Dr. Ellis received his undergraduate education at Stanford University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors in the Humanities. He attended Stanford University Medical School, after which he completed his internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
He was chosen to be Chief Resident in Medicine then completed a Fellowship in Digestive Diseases and Nutrition at the U.C.L.A. Center for Health Sciences. He has held the appointment of Attending Physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for over 35 years and is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at U.C.L.A. School of Medicine. He is actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows-in-training.
